I think a really fun song to do is called Rose by Anita Mui.

It's from a Jackie Chan movie (they play gangsters with tommy guns).

The song is in chinese and english and has a built in 'solo' for showing off your moves.

One other thought - one might consider Teachers Pet, from the wonderful spoof Waiting for Guffman. Everyone knows that tune since it's a popular movie, you could do it tongue in cheek and I'm sure it's not used a lot in auditions! Be original!

Merde!

maybe something like from the broadway play annie or like that remix wit jay-z in it the hardknock life song that he sampled?!?! I had a musical theater class 'n' we used the original dong its a hard knock life in it was really good... maybe it would be better wit the mix wit jay-z...
I suggest stuff from Thoroughly Modern Millie which is jazz based.

The Producers.

There's a great song out there from "Disney's On the Record" called 'He's a Tramp'. The show only National Toured the US, but they did make a fantastic cast recording. I definitely recommend that.
GREASE WEST SIDE STORY
You Can't Stop The Beat, and Mama, I'm A Big Girl Now, both from hairspray. Great songs, enjoy!
Do some research on your own. Go to the library and borrow some soundtracks from some of the well-known, as well as lesser known, musicals and listen to them and see what inspires you. I wrote a couple of interesting pieces to lesser known shows such as Song and Dance, another using a piece from Assassins. Five Guys Named Moe inspired a great tap piece, and another came from Starlight Express. Look outside the box my friend and you will stand out from the crowd.

Good luck and "break a leg"!
