What do you think about Hairspray the musical?

It is coming to a theatre near me and I was wondering if it is worth buying tickets to. What do you know about this musical?

What do you think about Hairspray the musical?mr messed up

It's an absolute hoot -- funny dialogue, great songs that sound like they were written in the 1960s, and fun sets, costumes and wigs -- lots and lots of big wigs.

Rent the hysterical non-musical John Waters film, then imagine it with songs. Or better yet, get the cast recording of the musical -- the songs are relentless fun. Or just get tickets to the tour that's coming your way.

i loved it. i saw the musical, i loved it so much i went to buy the movie.
yes you won't be sorry!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11
The John Waters' movie was an original piece of work, especially for its time. I've seen 2 touring productions of the musical, and unless you have someone like a Harvey Fierstein (or Divine in the movie) in the Mrs Turnblad role, it's just okay. It does have a great message, but I think you young people have already gotten 'the message'.
